Dr. Chip Crane has over 20 years of experience helping people grow as writers. His teaching and coaching experiences have ranged from university, military, government, and business settings. Chip served on the English Department faculty of the U.S. Naval Academy for 11 years, including 8 years as the Director of the Writing Center. He has trained bank examiners from the FDIC, military leaders, medical professionals, and employees from the Department of Homeland Security. Chip is also a senior lecturer at the University of Maryland, College Park, where he teaches literature and technical writing. ​

Chip has served on the Board of the Center for Plain Language since 2014, and he has provided leadership for the Center's annual Federal Report Card.
